Egypt focus
A regional hub, built in Egypt — for Egypt.
Launched in May 2024 at the Huawei Cloud Summit in Cairo, the Egypt Region is Huawei Cloud's first public cloud in Northern Africa — and currently the only major public cloud with local infrastructure on Egyptian soil. It serves as the regional hub for 28 African countries, with a five-year, US $300 million commitment behind it.
For Egyptian organizations the implication is simple: your workloads can run with compute, storage and AI inference inside the country, your data stays under Egyptian law, and your latency benchmarks improve dramatically. For regulated industries — banking, fintech, government, healthcare — local cloud is no longer something you wait for. It's already here.
A second Cairo availability zone is scheduled to launch in 2026, adding redundancy and headroom for production-grade workloads.
