About the role
We're looking for a Cloud Presales Engineer to partner with our sales and delivery teams on Huawei Cloud opportunities across Egypt. You'll lead technical discovery, design the target architecture, run proofs of concept, and write the technical sections of every proposal — across Activate, Migrate, Operate and Innovate engagements.
This is a customer-facing role with deep technical depth. You'll spend your time across whiteboards and Huawei Cloud consoles in equal measure, translating customer pain into a credible, costed, deployable solution — and making sure the team that delivers it inherits a clean plan.
You'll co-sell with Huawei Cloud's own technical teams, work alongside our partner platforms (DNSSense for DNS-layer security, ODIR for cloud management & FinOps), and act as the technical bridge between customers and our delivery practice.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, requirements gathering and qualification with customer architects, engineering leads and C-level stakeholders
- Design target Huawei Cloud architectures across compute, storage, network, identity, databases, containers, data and AI
- Run proofs of concept, demos, and architecture workshops
- Author technical sections of proposals, statements of work, and responses to RFPs / RFIs
- Size and cost solutions accurately — including TCO comparisons against incumbent platforms
- Co-sell with Huawei Cloud solution architects and partner technical teams
- Hand off won deals cleanly to delivery, with documented assumptions, risks and constraints
- Stay current with the Huawei Cloud service catalogue and our partner platforms (DNSSense, ODIR, Pangu)
What we're looking for
Skills required
- 4+ years in presales, solutions engineering, or hands-on cloud architecture for enterprise workloads
- Strong hands-on knowledge of public cloud — compute, storage, networking, IAM, databases, containers, observability, security
- Experience designing real migrations (rehost, refactor, replatform) for production workloads — including databases
- Comfortable running technical conversations with both engineering teams and C-level stakeholders
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic
- Strong slide, whiteboard and architecture-diagram skills (Lucidchart, draw.io, Excalidraw or similar)
- At least one cloud architect certification (Huawei HCCDA / HCCDP, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure AZ-305, or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field
Bonus points
Nice to have
- Hands-on Huawei Cloud production experience
- SAP on cloud experience (architecture, migration, or run)
- Background in data platforms / analytics or AI / GenAI use cases
- Prior experience as a partner Solutions Architect with Huawei / AWS / Azure / Oracle
- Working knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, Huawei Cloud ROMA / RFS)
- Familiarity with DNS-layer security, SOC tooling, or container platforms (CCE, EKS, AKS, GKE)
